Paperboy for Replit Agent
Connect Paperboy to Replit Agent, then ask it to add a blog page or a performance chart to your app from live Paperboy data.
Set up
You will add paperboy as a custom MCP server in your Replit Integrations settings and set an Authorization header in Advanced settings.
Create a key in Paperboy Settings (it starts with pb_live_).
Go to replit.com/integrations, which opens your workspace's Integrations settings, and find the MCP Servers pane.
Click + Add MCP server and set the display name to paperboy. Agent uses this name to refer to the server in chat logs.
Paste https://paperboyseo.com/mcp as the MCP Server URL. Open Advanced settings and add a header with the name Authorization and the value Bearer pb_live_YOUR_KEY.
Click Test & save. Replit tries to connect and walks you through OAuth only if the server needs it, which Paperboy does not.
In an Agent chat, mention the server by name, for example: Use the paperboy MCP server to list my sites.
Display name: paperboy
MCP Server URL: https://paperboyseo.com/mcp
Advanced settings > custom header name: Authorization
Advanced settings > custom header value: Bearer pb_live_YOUR_KEYReplace pb_live_YOUR_KEY with a key from Settings, API keys, and never commit it. The MCP docs list every client we cover.
How to tell it worked
After you save, the connection appears under MCP Servers with its status. Then ask Agent to use the paperboy server and watch for its tool calls in the chat.
What you get
Eight tools, the same engine as the dashboard. Reads are free. A pack is $20 for 100 credits; see how credits work.
get_sitesLists your sites with plan, publishing method and whether Search Console is connected. Every other call starts from a site id.
suggest_topicsReturns the next articles to write, each with the search data that is the reason for it.
write_articleStarts a fact-checked article and returns an id at once. The run takes a few minutes. It does not publish unless you pass publish: true.
get_articleReturns the article's status, its fact-check verdict and every source. Poll it after write_article until it reads published or needs_review.
check_claimsFact checks any public URL or pasted Markdown and returns each cited claim with the sources it was compared against.
publish_articlePublishes an article that passed the fact check to the site's publishing target. It changes the live site, so the agent should ask first.
get_performanceSearch Console clicks, impressions and average position for a site, by day and by article.
get_queriesThe queries a site, or one article, appears for in Search Console. This is where page-two keywords show up.
Try it
Plain requests. The tools each one uses are listed under it.

Why
Replit Agent adds a custom MCP server by HTTPS URL and sends a custom header from Advanced settings, which is all a bearer key needs. Once connected, its tools are available across your projects, and you invoke them by naming the server in chat.
Every MCP call passes through Replit's security scanner, which can block a tool it judges unsafe, and Agent tells you when it does. The docs name neither the transports nor the plans that include custom servers, so test the connection in a chat before you build on it.

Honest notes
Quirks of this client that can cost you an afternoon.
All MCP traffic passes through Replit's security scanner, which evaluates tool definitions and planned executions and can block tools it judges unsafe. If a tool is rejected, Agent tells you.
Once connected, the server's tools are available across all your projects. To use them, mention the server by name in chat, such as "Use the paperboy MCP server to ...".
If a tool needs confirmation, Agent shows a prompt before it runs, so you may see one before write_article or publish_article. Replit warns you to connect only MCP servers you trust.
FAQ
Yes. In Advanced settings of the add-server dialog you define one or more header name and value pairs, and Replit includes them in every MCP request. The docs use X-API-Key as an example name and show an Authorization bearer value in the install-link format.
No. Replit supports OAuth dynamic client registration for servers that offer it, and custom headers for static tokens. Paperboy uses a bearer key, so you add it as a header.
Replit's MCP docs do not say which plans include it. Check the MCP Servers pane in your Integrations settings to see if you can add one.
Replit documents install links built from a base64 JSON payload with displayName, baseUrl and optional headers. Do not put a real Paperboy key in a link you share.
The tools that read cost nothing. Suggesting topics costs 1 credit, writing a fact-checked article costs 12 credits (refunded if the run fails) and a fact check on its own costs 2 credits. A pack is $20 for 100 credits.
Only if you let it. write_article defaults to publish: false, so a finished article waits for a human, and the tool descriptions tell the agent to ask before publishing. You can also give the agent a read-only key.
