How do we verify these numbers?

  1. Only the Paperboy engine counts. A site is listed only if the Paperboy engine published articles on it. Sites that merely use another writing tool are not listed. A site that has not opted in, or is paused, never appears.
  2. The start date is the first article the engine published there. We read it from our own publish log. Nobody types it in.
  3. The numbers come from Google Search Console. We pull clicks and impressions per day by date alone, so the totals match the Search Console report, including searches Google keeps anonymous. The window is the last 90 days, ending on the latest day Google has reported, which is usually two to three days back.
  4. Every row shows its dates. Each site says which day its data runs through and when we fetched it. The page header shows the newest fetch.
  5. Old numbers are hidden, not shown. If a site's last good fetch, or its newest data day, is more than 4 days old, its numbers and chart disappear until fresh data arrives. The article count and start date stay, because they come from our own database.
  6. Growth is the last 28 days against the 28 before. It appears after 56 days on Paperboy, so both windows fall after the start date. The chart is drawn after 14 days.
  7. Sites we own say so. They carry an "Our site" label. Customer sites are labeled as opted in.

Traffic moves for many reasons. We show the raw Search Console numbers and the date we started. We do not claim the articles caused every change. Read how the articles are checked on the about page and what we store on the security page.

How do I get my site on the board?

Run Paperboy on your site and connect Google Search Console. Then switch on "Show my site on the Results board" in your site settings. It is off by default, you can turn it off at any time, and the board shows only your domain, your article count and your daily Search Console clicks and impressions. See pricing, or read the blog for how the articles are written.

Add your site to the board

Paperboy is made by Hive Asset Group, LLC. Your first article is free, with no credit card.

Questions about the results board

Which sites are on the Paperboy results board?

Sites where the Paperboy engine has published articles and that have opted in. Today that is our own site, labeled as ours. Other sites join once Paperboy publishes on them.

How do you verify the numbers?

We read clicks and impressions per day from Google Search Console, by date alone, so totals match the Search Console report. Each row shows the day its data runs through and when we fetched it.

Why would a site show no numbers?

We hide a site's numbers when its Search Console data is missing or more than 4 days old. We show nothing instead of old figures.

Can I put my site on the board?

Yes. Connect Google Search Console, then switch on the Results board option in your site settings. It is off by default and you can switch it off at any time.

Does Paperboy prove it caused the growth?

No. Traffic changes for many reasons. We show the raw numbers, the start date and the article count, and you can judge.
