Paperboy for Devin
Give Devin the Paperboy MCP server and ask it to find page-two queries, write the article and open a pull request with the Markdown.
Set up
You will add paperboy as a custom MCP server on the HTTP transport with an Auth Header.
Create a key in Paperboy Settings (it starts with pb_live_).
In the Devin web app, go to Customize > MCPs, open Add MCP and choose Add custom MCP. You need the Manage MCP Servers permission.
Enter the Server Name paperboy and a Short Description, then select the HTTP transport.
Set the Server URL to https://paperboyseo.com/mcp. Under Authentication method choose Auth Header, keep the header key Authorization, and enter Bearer pb_live_YOUR_KEY as the value.
Click Save, then click Test tools to confirm Devin can list the Paperboy tools.
Start a Devin session and ask it to use Paperboy.
Server Name: paperboy
Short Description: Paperboy SEO tools
Transport: HTTP
Server URL: https://paperboyseo.com/mcp
Authentication method: Auth Header
Header key: Authorization
Header value: Bearer pb_live_YOUR_KEYReplace pb_live_YOUR_KEY with a key from Settings, API keys, and never commit it. The MCP docs list every client we cover.
How to tell it worked
On the server's configuration page, click Test tools. Devin connects and tries to list the available tools. In the Devin CLI, run devin mcp list or devin mcp get paperboy.
How to remove it
CLI: devin mcp remove paperboy. The docs do not describe removal in the web app.
What you get
Eight tools, the same engine as the dashboard. Reads are free. A pack is $20 for 100 credits; see how credits work.
get_sitesLists your sites with plan, publishing method and whether Search Console is connected. Every other call starts from a site id.
suggest_topicsReturns the next articles to write, each with the search data that is the reason for it.
write_articleStarts a fact-checked article and returns an id at once. The run takes a few minutes. It does not publish unless you pass publish: true.
get_articleReturns the article's status, its fact-check verdict and every source. Poll it after write_article until it reads published or needs_review.
check_claimsFact checks any public URL or pasted Markdown and returns each cited claim with the sources it was compared against.
publish_articlePublishes an article that passed the fact check to the site's publishing target. It changes the live site, so the agent should ask first.
get_performanceSearch Console clicks, impressions and average position for a site, by day and by article.
get_queriesThe queries a site, or one article, appears for in Search Console. This is where page-two keywords show up.

Plain requests. The tools each one uses are listed under it.

Why
Devin takes custom MCP servers over the HTTP transport with an Auth Header, under Customize, MCPs. Pick HTTP and not SSE, since its docs call SSE legacy and say it is being deprecated. Adding a custom server needs the Manage MCP Servers permission.
In the Devin CLI, MCP tools prompt for approval by default. Add names like mcp__paperboy__get_queries to permissions.allow to approve the read tools, and leave write_article and publish_article on ask.

Honest notes
Quirks of this client that can cost you an afternoon.
Only people with the Manage MCP Servers permission can add a custom server. Without it you will not see Add custom MCP, and the docs point you to Suggest MCP Integration to request one from an admin. Servers live at Personal, Organization or Enterprise scope under Customize > MCPs.
Pick HTTP, not SSE: the docs call SSE legacy and say it is being deprecated. Test tools and Use MCP stay disabled until you save. If Test tools says "Check authentication credentials and permissions", the key or header is wrong.
In the Devin CLI, MCP tools prompt for approval by default. Add names like mcp__paperboy__get_queries to permissions.allow to auto-approve the read-only ones and leave write_article and publish_article on ask. Enterprise admins can block servers with an allowlist or MCP registry.
FAQ
Yes. Custom servers can use the HTTP (Streamable HTTP) or SSE transport with Authentication method set to Auth Header, where you give a header key (default Authorization) and a value such as Bearer your-token.
Adding custom MCP servers requires the Manage MCP Servers permission. Ask an organization admin, or use Suggest MCP Integration to request the server.
The docs describe Organization and Personal access only for OAuth servers. A static Auth Header is a single credential on the server entry, so treat it as shared at whatever scope you save it, and use a key you are happy to share.
Save the configuration, then click Test tools on the server page. For HTTP and SSE servers, Devin connects and lists the tools, and shows an error that points at connectivity, authentication or a timeout.
The tools that read cost nothing. Suggesting topics costs 1 credit, writing a fact-checked article costs 12 credits (refunded if the run fails) and a fact check on its own costs 2 credits. A pack is $20 for 100 credits.
Only if you let it. write_article defaults to publish: false, so a finished article waits for a human, and the tool descriptions tell the agent to ask before publishing. You can also give the agent a read-only key.
