Paperboy for Warp
Ask Warp's agent for topics, a draft and a fact check, and keep the work in the same terminal as your repo.
Set up
You will add Paperboy as a URL-based MCP server in Warp with an Authorization header, using the MCP servers page and its JSON editor.
In Paperboy, open Settings and create an API key. It starts with pb_live_.
In Warp, open the MCP servers page from Settings > Agents > MCP servers, or run Open MCP Servers from the Command Palette.
Click + Add and paste the JSON above, so the server is added as a URL (Streamable HTTP/SSE) server.
Start the paperboy server from the MCP servers page if it is not already running.
Ask Warp's agent to call one Paperboy tool, such as get_sites.

"paperboy": {
"url": "https://paperboyseo.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer pb_live_YOUR_KEY"
}
}
}
}Replace pb_live_YOUR_KEY with a key from Settings, API keys, and never commit it. The MCP docs list every client we cover.
How to tell it worked
The MCP servers page lists configured servers and which are running. Check that paperboy is running, use View Logs if it is not, and then ask the agent to call get_sites.
How to remove it
On the MCP servers page, stop the paperboy server, or delete it. You can also edit its configuration from the same page.
What you get
Eight tools, the same engine as the dashboard. Reads are free. A pack is $20 for 100 credits; see how credits work.
get_sitesLists your sites with plan, publishing method and whether Search Console is connected. Every other call starts from a site id.
suggest_topicsReturns the next articles to write, each with the search data that is the reason for it.
write_articleStarts a fact-checked article and returns an id at once. The run takes a few minutes. It does not publish unless you pass publish: true.
get_articleReturns the article's status, its fact-check verdict and every source. Poll it after write_article until it reads published or needs_review.
check_claimsFact checks any public URL or pasted Markdown and returns each cited claim with the sources it was compared against.
publish_articlePublishes an article that passed the fact check to the site's publishing target. It changes the live site, so the agent should ask first.
get_performanceSearch Console clicks, impressions and average position for a site, by day and by article.
get_queriesThe queries a site, or one article, appears for in Search Console. This is where page-two keywords show up.

Plain requests. The tools each one uses are listed under it.

Why
Warp lists two kinds of MCP server: a local command, and a URL server for Streamable HTTP or SSE. Paperboy is the second kind. It takes a url and a headers object, so the whole entry is five lines of JSON from the MCP servers page.
Warp starts running servers again after a restart, but project-scoped servers never start on their own. If you use a .warp/.mcp.json file, start the server by hand and keep the key out of the file you commit. View Logs is the place to look if paperboy will not run.

Honest notes
Quirks of this client that can cost you an afternoon.
Warp lists Streamable HTTP/SSE servers under one URL type, with only url and headers as properties. Paperboy needs the Authorization header, so include it in the JSON.
Warp also reads file-based configs from ~/.warp/.mcp.json and .warp/.mcp.json. A project file should never hold the real key if you commit it.
The docs say config edits require approval and that project-scoped servers never auto-spawn, so start a project server by hand each session.
If you share a server with teammates, Warp scrubs sensitive env values, but the docs do not say the same for headers. Do not share a config that contains your key.
FAQ
Yes. The docs list a Streamable HTTP/SSE (URL) server type with a url and an optional headers object, and they show a Bearer token in headers as an example.
Open Settings > Agents > MCP servers, Warp Drive > Personal > MCP Servers, or run Open MCP Servers from the Command Palette, then click + Add.
Start it from the MCP servers page and click View Logs to read the error. Project-scoped servers do not auto-spawn.
Warp detects ~/.warp/.mcp.json for global servers and .warp/.mcp.json for a project. Do not commit a project file that holds the key.
The tools that read cost nothing. Suggesting topics costs 1 credit, writing a fact-checked article costs 12 credits (refunded if the run fails) and a fact check on its own costs 2 credits. A pack is $20 for 100 credits.
Only if you let it. write_article defaults to publish: false, so a finished article waits for a human, and the tool descriptions tell the agent to ask before publishing. You can also give the agent a read-only key.
